Republican Candidates from Sixth Congressional District to Debate July 8

The Republican Party of East Baton Rouge Parish is sponsoring a Congressional Debate/Forum on Tuesday, July 8, 2014.  Confirmed participants are Sixth Congressional District Republican candidates:

Capt. Bob Bell
Garret Graves
Sen. Dan Claitor
Paul Dietzel
Cassie Felder
Craig McCullouch
Dr. Charles “Trey” Thomas
Rep. Lenar Whitney

The event will begin with a reception at 11:30 a.m.  The luncheon will be called to order at 12 noon and continue until 2 p.m.

Each candidate will have 3 minutes for an opening statement and 1 minute for closing.  Most of the event will be devoted to Questions and Answers.  Representatives of three groups will ask questions — Republican leaders, members of the news media, and rank-and-file Republican voters in attendance.  Among those confirmed to ask questions are City-Parish Mayor Pro-Tem Chandler Loup and Advocate Capitol Bureau chief Mark Ballard.

The event is an expanded version of the monthly Ronald Reagan Newsmaker Luncheon, which is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.  The location of the event will be confirmed soon.
